Here come the swans...

Swans.jpg

I heard swans fly through this morning. Their calls always remind me of women weeping. Their call deeply shifts me, and it is a haunting sound to receive, especially in the very dark hours of early morning.

We will most likely receive more snow here in Western NY before spring officially settles in here off of Lake Erie, yet the swans' return is a significant sign every spring that the most harsh winter weather is now behind us.

These tremendous birds fly through ahead of the first large snow storm in late-Autumn too. They're simply and magnificently attuned to track the shifting spring weather patterns (energy!) and choose to land on our lake to rest for a few days during their migration to and from Canada each year.

This image was captured on Findley Lake in March two years ago while the lake was still very much frozen over. The morning sun shining off of these radiant souls, paired with the frozen lake brought me to tears and gifted me with many images and video of their divine connection to one another and to the environment.
